Day 1 · Arrive in Cochin Upon arrival at
Arrive in Cochin Upon arrival at Cochin International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and assisted with your transfer to the hotel for check-in. Cochin has a rich historical connection to maritime trade with the Middle East, Mediterranean Europe, and the Dutch. It boasts one of the finest natural harbors along the Arabian coastline, reflected in its diverse architecture. In the afternoon, visit Jew Town and the historic synagogue, built in 1568 and adorned with Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers. Explore the vibrant spice market, filled with the aromas that have shaped the region's history. Witness the unique Chinese fishing nets (Cheenavala), believed to have been introduced by traders from Kublai Khan's court. In the evening, enjoy a performance of Kathakali, Kerala's famous classical dance. Overnight stay in Cochin.
Day 2 · Cochin – Alleppey (70 km – 1.5 hrs) – Kumarakom (Overnight Houseboat)
After breakfast, drive to Alleppey, often referred to as the "Venice of the East" for its picturesque canals and lagoons. This town, which has a rich history dating back to the 18th century, is the hub for backwater tourism in Kerala. Upon arrival, board a traditional houseboat, known as a Kettuvallam, and cruise through the serene backwaters towards Kumarakom, experiencing the daily lives of local villagers along the way. Day 3 · Arrive in Kumarakom After breakfast, disembark
Arrive in Kumarakom After breakfast, disembark the houseboat in Kumarakom, a cluster of islands on Vembanad Lake. Renowned for its lush landscapes of lakes, canals, and paddy fields, Kumarakom offers an idyllic escape. Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, home to a variety of migratory birds, including cormorants, egrets, and Siberian storks. The sanctuary is particularly vibrant from October to February, making it a haven for birdwatchers. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.
Day 4 · Kumarakom – Periyar (135 km – 4 hrs)
Today, drive to Periyar, one of India's most renowned wildlife sanctuaries. Known for its diverse flora and fauna, this sanctuary provides unique opportunities for wildlife observation. Enjoy a cruise on Periyar Lake, surrounded by the sanctuary, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape and wildlife. Following the cruise, embark on a guided tour of the sanctuary and a spice plantation visit to learn about the region's rich agricultural heritage. Overnight stay in Periyar.
Day 5 · Periyar – Kovalam (250 km – 6 hrs)
Rise early for a boat cruise on Lake Periyar for a final wildlife viewing experience. After breakfast, depart for Kovalam, located at the southern tip of India and renowned for its beautiful beaches. Kovalam is home to two main beaches separated by a cliff and offers a variety of Ayurvedic salons and wellness resorts, making it a perfect destination for relaxation and rejuvenation. Day 6 · Kovalam
Today is free for leisure. Enjoy the sun, sand, and sea at Kovalam’s stunning beaches or indulge in Ayurvedic treatments at one of the local wellness centers. Overnight stay in Kovalam.
Day 7 · Kovalam – Trivandrum (15 km – 20 minutes) & Departure
