Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 · Arrival in Cochin
Upon arrival in Cochin, you will be greeted with a traditional 'Swagat' (Welcome). Our representative will assist you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Cochin, known for its historical maritime trade connections with the Middle East, Mediterranean Europe, and the Dutch, boasts one of the finest natural harbors along the Arabian coastline. Its cosmopolitan character is evident in its diverse architecture. In the evening, enjoy a captivating performance of Kerala’s renowned classical dance, Kathakali. Overnight stay in Cochin.
Day 2 · Cochin to Kumarakom (51 km - 1.5 hrs)
This morning, visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, followed by a visit to the Jewish Synagogue, built in 1568, adorned with Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers. Explore the bustling spice market, where the aroma of spices fills the air and reflects the region's rich history. Discover the unique Chinese fishing nets, believed to have been introduced by traders from the court of Kublai Khan. In the afternoon, we will drive to Kumarakom, a picturesque backwater destination located in the Kottayam district. Kumarakom is nestled on the banks of Vembanad Lake, surrounded by mangrove forests and coconut groves. This enchanting village is renowned for its boating, fishing, and sightseeing opportunities, offering a serene escape amidst lush greenery, meandering lagoons, and vibrant birdlife. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.
Day 3 · Kumarakom to Alleppey by Houseboat
After breakfast, visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, home to a variety of bird species, including cormorants, teals, and Siberian storks. The sanctuary is a haven for birdwatcheespecially between October and July. Later, board a traditional houseboat, locally known as a Kettuvallam, for a scenic cruise on Vembanad Lake. This serene waterway offers a relaxing escape where you can enjoy fishing, boating, or simply unwinding amidst the stunning landscape. As you glide through the backwateobserve the daily life of the villagers and the lush surroundings. Overnight stay on the houseboat.
Day 4 · Alleppey to Cochin (70 km
Alleppey to Cochin (70 km - 1.5 hrs) & Departure Disembark from the houseboat and drive back to Cochin. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your onward flight. This itinerary provides an immersive experience in the tranquil backwaters of Kerala, showcasing the region's rich culture, natural beauty, and unique wildlife.
