India + Nepal: the perfect two-week itinerary
From the Taj Mahal to the Himalayas in one trip — India and Nepal combine beautifully, and a direct Delhi–Kathmandu flight makes the logistics easy.
Why India and Nepal work together
India delivers the icons — Mughal monuments, palaces, bazaars — while Nepal adds Himalayan drama, Buddhist and Hindu heritage, and a gentler pace in Kathmandu and Pokhara. A short flight links them, so you gain a whole new country for very little travel time.
How long to spend
Around 11–14 days is ideal: 5 days for India's Golden Triangle, then 5–7 in Nepal split between the Kathmandu Valley, lakeside Pokhara and a jungle safari in Chitwan.
Route & flights
Fly into Delhi, travel Delhi–Agra–Jaipur, then take a direct Delhi → Kathmandu flight (about 1h45). In Nepal, base in Kathmandu for the valley temples, fly or drive to Pokhara for Annapurna views, and add Chitwan for wildlife before flying home from Kathmandu.
Best time to go
October–November and March–April are prime — clear Himalayan views and comfortable weather in both countries.
